# Getting Started for business

Before you can set up the WhatsApp Business API client and begin sending messages, you must perform some steps to set up your WhatsApp account.

### **Step 1 : Verify your business in the** [**Facebook Business Manager**](https://business.facebook.com/)**.**

In case you don't have a Fb business manager account ,set up your WhatsApp business account in the [**Facebook Business Manager**](https://business.facebook.com/)**.**

Businesses can apply for approval by filling a questionnaire and submit to us and we will get the business approval as a whatsapp partner.

### **Step 2 : Procure a phone number**

After getting approval, the next step is to connect a number. The number should be a fresh number with no prior WhatsApp account associated to it.
